Recertification Instructions
ALL levels of licensure MUST complete the following
- All relicensure fees
- A signed copy (front & back) of current CPR card. This can be any of the following as long as it meets the requirements set forth in the EMS Rules and Regulations, Section IX. C. 1. c. (Page 43)
- American Heart Association BLS Provider
- American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- Other Nationally recognized CPR course for Heath Care Providers
Section 1: EMT requirements including the following:
- 40 Hours CE following NCCP, Local and Individual Requirements; to include 4 hours of trauma education with 2 of those being Arkansas System Specific, 4 hours of Pediatric Education and 2 hours Stroke, OR
- Challenge and pass the NREMT cognitive exam with documentation of skills competency from the Services Medical Director or their designee; OR
- Submit a valid NREMT card for the period of renewal to include to include 4 hours of trauma education with 2 of those being Arkansas System Specific, 4 hours of Pediatric Education and 2 hours Stroke. State licensure will match NREMT renewal dates.
Section 2: AEMT requirements including the following:
- 50 Hours Following NREMT NCCP, Local and Individual Requirements; to include 4 hours of trauma education with 2 of those being Arkansas System Specific, 5 hours of Pediatric Education and 3.5 hours Stroke OR
- Challenge and pass the NREMT cognitive exam with documentation of skills competency from the Services Medical Director or their designee; OR
- Submit and valid NREMT card for the renewal period you are applying for, to include 4 hours of trauma education with 2 of those being Arkansas System Specific, 5 hours of Pediatric Education and 3.5 hours Stroke.
Section 3: Paramedic requirements include the following:
- A signed copy (front & back) of current American Heart ACLS and CPR card. AND
- 60 Hours Following NREMT NCCP, Local and Individual Requirements; to include 5 hours of trauma education with 2 of those being Arkansas System Specific, 6 hours of Pediatric Education, 2 hours Stroke and 2 hours Cardiac, OR
- Challenge and pass the NREMT cognitive exam with documentation of skills competency from the Services Medical Director or their designee; OR
- Submit a valid NREMT card for the renewal period you are applying for, to include 5 hours of trauma education with 2 of those being Arkansas System Specific, 6 hours of Pediatric Education and 2 hours Stroke and 2 hours Cardiac.
